The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa – COMESA on Monday 14th January 2013 joined the government of the Republic of Zambia, Lusaka province in particular in the launching of the tree-planting week, which was held at Matero Girls high school in Lusaka.
COMESA donated 1000 tree seedlings to the Forestry department as a way of supporting the government in mitigating the effects of climate change that have been caused by massive deforestation.
In total COMESA intends to plant over five millions trees.
