The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Secretary General Mr Sindiso Ngwenya has sent a congratulatory message to His Excellency President Micheal Sata and the people of Zambia for winning the prestigious African Cup of Nations Trophy.
"This victory is not only for Zambia but the entire COMESA region. Therefore, COMESA joins this great nation in celebrating this important occasion. Football integrates communities, and is thus essential in mobilizing people towards regional integration, "Mr. Ngwenya added.
He has commended the government under the leadership of President Sata for this great achievement by the Chipolopolo Team. Zambia is a founding member of COMESA and actively participates in the various COMESA programmes meant to deepen regional integration in the region.
COMESA has nineteen Member States drawn from eastern and southern Africa.
