Zambia has received financing amounting to 29.85 million dollars for road improvement projects under the north south corridor.
The financing has been disbursed by the development bank of southern Africa under the tripartite trust account spearheaded by common market for east and southern Africa –COMESA-, SADC and the eastern African community.
Zambia’s Acting president Alexander Chikwanda has expressed hope that the road improvements will make regional trade easier.
Mr chikwanda who is also finance and national planning minister says an increase in exports for Zambia will also be recorded as the transportation system will be improved.
He add that the projects are vital in linking most states in the region which in turn will lessen costs of doing business in the region and ultimately improve the welfare of the people.
