The Zambian Government has urged COMESA member states to utilise the two-year extension for the implementation of the Customs union to cement all loopholes that could make it difficult for the region for implementation.
Speaking when he officially opened the Fourth Extra-ordinary meeting of the Senior Officials at the Grand Palace Hotel in Lusaka on 2nd October 2012, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Bob Sichinga said COMESA’s leap towards the formation of a Customs union used be used as a platform for further regional development through enhancing intra-Africa trade.
